OUR STORY
The Challenge DXB began in 2013 as "The 14-Day Zumba Challenge," where participants enthusiastically committed to two hours of Zumba daily for 14 consecutive days. This high-energy event quickly became a hit, inspiring a passion for fitness and community. Over the course of 12 years, the challenge evolved to include a broader range of activities, reflecting the diverse fitness interests of its participants.
Now held twice annually, The Challenge DXB offers an exciting mix of Zumba Fitness®, Zumba Toning®, Strong by Zumba®, and additional fitness components such as weight training, yoga, pilates, outdoor adventure days, and surprise locations to keep participants motivated and engaged. Each challenge is designed to enhance both the excitement and the results for everyone involved.
In 2024, The Challenge DXB grew beyond its origins, becoming a vibrant community dedicated to empowering women through live and online challenges and events. These initiatives aim to keep women active while providing a supportive space for self-love and personal growth. Together, we inspire transformation, connection, and a lifelong commitment to health and wellness.

Dynamic Fitness Leader Empowering Women through Wellness
Relocating to Dubai in 2000 from Colombia, I embarked on an inspiring journey from performer to fitness entrepreneur. After a decade of modeling and performing across the UAE and GCC, I transitioned into fitness, transforming my passion into a thriving career.
In 2012, along with Maira I co- founded The Challenge DXB, a women-focused community that empowers participants through fitness and holistic wellness. This biannual event has inspired countless women, combining fitness, health, and self-growth.
As a certified Personal Trainer (2016) and Yoga Instructor (2019), I bring a well-rounded approach to fitness, focusing on strength, mindfulness, and sustainable well-being. In 2018, I demonstrated my dedication by coaching myself to win 1st place in the Bikini Fitness category at Dubai Muscle Beach, competing against 30 athletes.
With expertise in nutrition and ongoing studies in Rapid Transformational Therapy (RTT), I offer a blend of physical and mental transformation programs. My group classes and personalized training empower women to achieve their goals and embrace their best selves.
As a mother of a 26-year-old son, I understand the importance of balance and resilience, which I aim to instill in every individual I coach. I bring energy, creativity, and expertise to every event, ensuring a memorable and transformative experience for all.

Maira, founder of Active Mama Workout, brings over a decade of fitness
Maira, co-founder of The Challenge DXB and founder of Active Mama Workout, brings over a decade of fitness expertise to guide and inspire women on their unique wellness journeys. As a certified Pre & Post-Natal Coach, ZUMBA Instructor, and Fitness Coach, Maira discovered the significance of prenatal and postnatal activity through her personal experience as a wife and mother of two daughters.
Specializing in building strong foundations with strength training, mobility, and core work, Maira is dedicated to supporting women in all stages of motherhood. Fueled by the challenges of balancing motherhood and a full-time career, she founded Active Mama Workout, making workouts accessible for every busy mom.
Maira truly believes that movement and motherhood go hand in hand, and exercise is not just about weight loss and aesthetics. It’s about accepting and embracing what your body can do for you, staying strong, and being energized to handle whatever life throws at you.

When and for how long is the upcoming Challenge30 Days to Empower Your Body and Mind Challenge starts on January 4th and lasts for 30 days

Do I have to do the Challenge in any specific time?The best thing of this challenge is that since it's online, you can anytime take 30 minutes of your time and do the challenge.

Do I need any special equipment?Yes, you will need a yoga mat a glute band and a pair of dumbbells of min 2 kilos each.

How long are the workouts each day?Each day the workout will last 20 minutes only.

Can beginners participate?Definitely! a lot of our past participants have been beginners, we always ask to listen to their bodies and show modifications that make each day enjoyable and successful yet challenging.

What if I can't keep up with the pace of the workouts?We invite our participants to always follow their own pace, if they are beginners, to take small breaks and to follow modifications. Following these instruction you will avoid injuries and will enjoy the whole challenge, by the end of the challenge you will feel stronger fitter and the best, you won't be a beginner anymore!

Is there a specific diet I should follow during the challenge?We don't believe in "diets" however, you will also get a food guide that you should follow, not only during the challenge but to make it as part of your lifestyle. Along with the challenge, you will be able to see quick results.

What if I miss a day? Can I make it up?Every day we will unlock a checkpoint and it will be open until you can finish it so if you miss a day, you can always comeback to that day and finish it.

How do I stay motivated throughout the 14 days?The challenge is already a community of supportive women that will be motivating one another no to fall out thought our WhatsApp. We will also have weekly zoom sessions to go through questions you may have and to share experiences and support one another. We've got your back!

What if I have an injury or health concern? Can I still participate?We strongly advise every lady that wants to attend the Challenge to get a free pass from their doctor first, and if there are past injuries of any medical issues its imperative to get an approval from their doctor that she can do the challenge without any issue.

Will there be any rest or recovery days?Yes we need it :) We will have Saturdays and Sundays off workouts.
